Job Title: Machine Operator
Department: Upholstery Sewing
Reports To: Department Supervisor
FLSA Status: Hourly
Summary: Operate cutter to supply pre-cut vinyl, carpet, mat, plascore and fiberglass to multiple departments in the production process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret schedule for daily production requirements.
- Load and unload material, operate cutter, change blades.
- Inspect material to assure that it is meeting the quality standards of Cobalt.
- Perform standard housekeeping duties throughout the day.
- Cross train in other areas of the department.
- All duties must be performed in accordance with Cobalt’s safety policies and procedure.
- Other duties may be assigned.

General computer knowledge required. Must be able to read and execute build instruction from work orders.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related work experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two- step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
