Position Overview
We are looking for a senior Applications Development Engineer to join our global CAPRES team, responsible for supporting customers across Asia, including Taiwan, with a primary focus on leading logic customers alongside other key regional accounts.
In this role, you will drive strategic application engagement, customer coordination, and regional application direction for advanced electrical and magnetic metrology solutions. Working closely with technical engagement leadership, regional teams, and CAPRES headquarter, you will help define customer priorities, guide application activities, and ensure alignment between customer needs, regional execution, and future product direction.
A key part of this role is to drive new customer penetration across the region. In parallel, you will increase adoption at existing customers by enabling new applications and expanding use cases, thereby increasing tool utilization and supporting additional tool demand.
This position also offers the opportunity to grow into a regional leadership role, including potential future responsibility for leading a team of application engineers.
Job Description
Drive strategic application engagement across Asia, including Taiwan, with primary focus on leading logic customers and selected key regional accounts
Define and coordinate application strategies, evaluation priorities, and customer support plans in alignment with business objectives and customer requirements
Support new customer penetration and increase adoption at existing customers by identifying, developing, and promoting new applications and extended use cases
Act as a senior technical interface for customers, providing high-level application guidance, escalation support, and technical coordination across multiple engagements
Guide and support regional application engineers in the execution of on-site evaluations, application deployment, troubleshooting, and use case implementation
Capture customer requirements, technical challenges, and future technology needs, and translate them into clear recommendations for CAPRES headquarter regarding tool and software improvements
Coordinate cross-functional activities between customers, regional teams, and CAPRES headquarter to ensure effective execution and alignment of application priorities
Provide technical leadership within the regional team, including mentoring, knowledge sharing, and driving consistency in application approach and quality
Contribute to regional engagement planning by helping prioritize opportunities, customer focus areas, and application development direction
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience in semiconductor manufacturing, with strong exposure to advanced logic applications
Experience working with leading logic semiconductor manufacturers in Asia, preferably in Taiwan
Deep knowledge of electrical and magnetic characterization techniques, including sheet resistance measurements, CIPT, MOKE and FMR.
Strong background in customer-facing roles, including technical leadership, engagement coordination, and strategic account support
Demonstrated ability to drive adoption growth and new customer penetration through application-driven strategies
Proven ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and translate customer needs into regional application priorities and product recommendations
Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate (PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field with 6 years of relevant experience; or
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, including experience in semiconductor manufacturing
Strong understanding of semiconductor applications, device characterization, and process integration
Solid expertise in electrical and magnetic metrology and data analysis methodologies
Ability to independently solve complex technical challenges and define effective application strategies
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including interaction with senior customer stakeholders
Direct customer exposure in Taiwan and/or major semiconductor accounts in Asia
Fluency in Mandarin (Chinese) and English, both spoken and written
