The Role: 

The Kitchen Supervisor reports to the F&B Senior Manager and General Manager and supports food operations by working closely with the third-party concession’s vendor and external catering partners during Special Events. Acting as the primary liaison between the venue and outside food service providers, this role ensures clear communication, smooth coordination, and alignment with venue standards. The Kitchen Supervisor manages receiving, monitors back-of-house operations during events, supports on-site execution, helps resolve operational issues as they arise, and ensures timely, high-quality food service delivery. This position plays a key role in maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and an elevated guest experience across concession offerings. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Act as the main liaison between venue management, third-party catering/concessions contractors to ensure clear and effective communication. 

  • Receive and coordinate all food deliveries and orders from third-party vendors, ensuring proper documentation. 

  • Organize and manage vendor access to kitchen and back-of-house areas, ensuring compliance with venue procedures and event requirements. 

  • Oversee quality control of all concession food items served to guests, ensuring presentation, consistency, and venue standards are met. 

  • Maintain kitchen compliance with all applicable health, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations. 

  • Ensure all kitchen equipment and work areas are kept clean, organized, and operating to established standards while supporting and upholding overall kitchen integrity through monitoring cleanliness, workflow practices, and operational consistency. 

  • Manage and communicate menu updates, changes, and special event requirements to the Food & Beverage team and relevant stakeholders in a timely manner. 

  • All other duties required from the Senior F&B Manager and General Manager. 

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar kitchen, catering, concessions, or food and beverage operations role in a high-volume event or hospitality environment. 

  • Valid Ontario Food Handler Certification (Food Safety Training). 

  • Valid WHMIS certification (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System). 

  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and health code compliance. 

  • Proven ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including third-party vendors and venue teams. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on collaboration and service delivery. 

  • High attention to detail with the ability to maintain quality control under pressure in fast-paced environments. 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities during live events. 

  • Ability to problem-solve and respond quickly to operational issues in real time. 

  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and event-based scheduling.

The expected compensation for this position in Ontario is: $25 per hour. 

 

Physical Requirements/Work Environment  

Sits for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk; stands and walks throughout the day; occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day; lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
