ABOUT THE POSITION

Columbia Sportswear is powered by technology that connects four global brands, a worldwide supply chain, and 500+ retail stores. Our Columbia Digital Technology (CDT) organization is expanding its Global Capability Center (GCC) in India to help drive our next phase of cloud transformation.

We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (P2) with strong Azure expertise and a focus on cloud operations, support, and auditing. In this role, you will help keep our Azure environment reliable, secure, and well-governed; partnering with and supporting other engineers through operational execution, documentation, and continuous improvement.

This is an operationally focused role with clear room to grow into a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer through increasing ownership of architecture, automation, and cross-team technical leadership.

Because this role partners with global teams across North America, Europe, and Asia, excellent English communication (spoken and written) and experience working with international, distributed teams are essential.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

In this role, you’ll work as part of Columbia’s global Infrastructure Engineering team to design, build, secure, and operate enterprise cloud environments.

You will:

  • Operate and support our Azure-first cloud ecosystem, including incident response, triage, and escalation management

  • Perform cloud audits and operational assessments (e.g., configuration, access, logging, and policy adherence), and maintain evidence-ready documentation

  • Support engineering teams by fulfilling operational requests, enabling safe changes, and providing Tier 2/3 cloud platform support

  • Collaborate closely with cross regional partners to improve operational runbooks, standards, and automation that reduce toil and increase reliability

This position plays a key role in building a stable, scalable, and secure future for Columbia’s cloud portfolio.

YOU ARE

  • A strong Azure engineer passionate about secure, scalable, and innovative cloud solutions

  • A collaborator who enjoys working with global teammates across cultures and time zones

  • A clear and confident communicator, in both spoken and written English and be able to work with technical and nontechnical audiences

  • Someone who values documentation, standards, and process-driven engineering

  • Familiar with IT Service Management (ITSM / ITIL), operations maturity, and enabling service teams

  • A proactive, self-directed engineer who thrives in a dynamic, global environment

  • An analytical thinker who emphasizes structure, quality, and repeatability

YOU HAVE

  • Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on cloud engineering or cloud operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related STEM field—or equivalent experience

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (primary requirement), including operations fundamentals (monitoring, backups, identity/access, networking basics, and governance)

  • General knowledge of AWS (nice to have, not required)

  • Experience working with global or distributed teams (GCC/multinational experience is a plus)

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum, Jira, Confluence

  • Strong Terraform experience, particularly for IaC and deployment pipelines

  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, automation tools such as Ansible and PowerShell

  • Experience with ITSM/ITIL; exposure to Jira Service Manager is a plus

This job description is not meant to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities, but constitutes a general definition of the position's scope and function in the company.
