The Role: 

You will have the opportunity to be part of a very special team for Live Nation’s newest Canadian venue, HISTORY Ottawa. A state-of-the-art venue with a capacity of up to 2000 hosting over 180 concerts and private events annually. If you are ready to be a part of Ottawa’s most memorable and historic shows, this role might be for you!  

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide an exclusive premium service experience to members of our VIP areas; serving food and beverages during events delivering an exemplary guest experience 

  • Demonstrate complete understanding of food and beverage offerings and make appropriate recommendations  

  • Utilize Point of Sales systems to adequately process orders and to upsell in real time  

  • Communicate with service staff, kitchen staff, and bartenders to coordinate entire station and ensure guest satisfaction with the food and service 

  • Create an atmosphere where coworkers are connected and committed through seamless communication and the willingness to help others win 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Must be Smart Serve Certified and at least 19 years of age  

  • Minimum of 3 years experience serving in a premium, fast-paced environment. Those with previous bottle service & casual fine dining experience an asset 

  • Knowledge of various spirits, beers, wines and champagnes 

  • Experience using point of sales systems; Appetize an asset, but not required 

  • Experience delivering drinks and maneuvering trays through large crowds 

  • You understand the art of upselling and enjoy meeting daily sales incentives  

  • Experience requesting ID’s for anyone whom looks under the legal drinking age and recognizing validity  

  • Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time 

  • Working knowledge of cocktail tray service, basic food service, and responsible alcohol service 

  • Have an incredible ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high volume environment while maintaining a first-in-class hospitality and food and beverage experience 

  • Strong communication skills, including listening skills and ability to communicate with guests and respond to inquiries 

  • A passion for live events and desire to ensure every customer experience is exceptional! 

  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required

The expected compensation for this position in Ontario is: $17.60 per hour.

 

Physical Requirements/Work Environment  

Sits for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk; stands and walks throughout the day; occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day; lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
