Your day at NTT DATA:
As an Automation Test Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality software by designing and implementing modern test automation solutions. You will work closely with developers, product teams, and stakeholders to ensure strong test coverage and quality across applications.
You will contribute to building scalable frameworks, embedding automation into CI/CD pipelines, and continuously improving testing practices to drive release confidence and engineering excellence.
Key responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and TypeScript
• Build and enhance scalable automation frameworks and reusable utilities
• Execute functional, regression, and end-to-end tests across web applications
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing using Azure DevOps (ADO)
• Identify, track, and report defects, and support root cause analysis and resolution using Jira/Xray
• Contribute to improving test strategies, quality practices, and automation standards
To thrive in this role, you need to have:
• Strong hands-on experience with the Playwright automation framework
• Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript, with the ability to write clean and maintainable code
• Solid experience in web automation testing (UI and functional testing)
• Good understanding of testing types, including functional, regression, and integration testing
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments
• Strong experience with version control practices and collaboration with development teams (branching, pull requests, repository management)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Academic qualifications and certifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Required experience:
• Proven experience in test automation using Playwright
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps)
• Familiarity with defect management and test reporting tools such as Jira/Xray
• Experience in building automation frameworks from scratch (highly regarded)
• Knowledge of API testing, including Playwright API testing (preferred)
• Exposure to performance testing or cross-browser testing (desirable)
• Experience with accessibility testing tools such as axe-core in Playwright (desirable)
• Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools (e.g., Copilot Studio) (advantageous)
