Job Description
Developers develop, test and integrate applications, frameworks and tools in a controlled environment. With expertise in a specific technology environment, they are responsible for software-specific design and realization, as well as testing, deployment and release management or technical application management of client-specific package based solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day to day application support and administration for Jira (Atlassian) and GitHub platforms, ensuring availability, performance, and reliability
- Troubleshoot issues related to project configurations, workflows, permissions, integrations, repositories, pipelines, and automation rules
- Maintain and update Jira workflows, issue types, custom fields, screens, schemes, and automation rules based on support or maintenance requirements
- Support GitHub repository management including access administration, branch protections, webhook configurations, and workflow troubleshooting
- Analyze incoming support tickets, diagnose root causes, and deliver permanent solutions or escalate when required
- Assist teams with Jira dashboards, filters (JQL), boards, service projects, and reporting enhancements
- Monitor system logs, queue activity, GitHub Actions workflow runs, and platform health indicators
- Support integration troubleshooting between Jira, GitHub, CI/CD tools, and other enterprise systems
- Participate in minor enhancement efforts such as Jira workflow changes, automation updates, permission adjustments, and GitHub configuration improvements
- Coordinate environment changes, configuration migrations, and maintenance windows with platform admins or DevOps teams
- Document support procedures, configuration notes, troubleshooting steps, and operational runbooks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, QA, DevOps, and platform administrators to ensure smooth operations
- Provide afternoon shift coverage for Jira/GitHub support requests, incidents, and maintenance tasks, including clear end of day handoffs
Required Skills & Experiences:
- 4+ years of hands on experience supporting or administering Jira (Atlassian) and GitHub in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of:
o Jira administration (projects, workflows, schemes, custom fields, permissions)
o JQL queries, boards, dashboards, filters, and automation rules
o GitHub repository management, access controls, branch policies, and GitHub Actions - Experience troubleshooting workflow errors, automation failures, webhook issues, and integration problems
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and Git-based development workflows
- Ability to analyze logs, diagnose configuration issues, and resolve platform level or user level problems
- Experience working with ticketing systems (Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps)
- Understanding of agile methodologies and how Jira/GitHub support application development pipelines
- Strong communication skills and ability to support multiple teams during maintenance cycles
- Solid documentation discipline and attention to operational detail
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Confluence administration
- Exposure to GitHub Enterprise or Atlassian Cloud-to-Cloud migrations
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
- Atlassian or GitHub certifications
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $44,951-105,456 CAD.
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.
The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.
These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity.
It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
