Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Define and implement laboratory strategy encompassing analytical methods, equipment, competencies, organizational structure, and quality control management
- Establish and maintain laboratory governance frameworks to ensure operational excellence
- Drive innovation and modernization of laboratory capabilities
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships across Clariant's global network
- Serve as primary interface between laboratory operations and R&D, production, and other key functions
- Manage external laboratory partnerships including audits, performance monitoring, and contract negotiations
Financial & Resource Management
- Develop and manage laboratory budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation
- Lead equipment investment planning and capital expenditure decisions
- Negotiate pricing and service agreements with external laboratories and suppliers
Continuous Improvement & HSE Leadership
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and effectiveness
- Lead Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs within the laboratory
- Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational targets are met
Digital Transformation & Systems Implementation
- Provide leadership in the implementation and optimization of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Establish robust database infrastructure and document management systems
- Drive digitalization initiatives to enhance laboratory productivity and data integrity
Performance Management
- Track, analyze, and report on laboratory performance metrics
- Implement corrective actions based on performance data
Foster a culture of accountability and excellence
Requirements:
- At least 5 years with management in an international company.
- Deep analytical chemistry knowledge
- Fluent in English and French (C1 level required)
- Digital mindset (SAP, LIMS)
- Leadership skills
- Problem solving with a business orientation
- Strategic thinking and vision-setting abilities
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Change management expertise
- Results-oriented with strong business acumen
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
- Education: Master, engineer or PhD
