Job Description

Lifeguard

Position Purpose
Monitor and supervise the pool facilities, enforcing policies and procedures.


Essential Job Functions
  • Monitor and enforce pool rules and policies. 
  • Keep facility clean and organized. 
  • Know facility’s emergency action plan, and how to engage it. 
  • Perform life saving duties when needed. 
  • Answer patrons questions and follow up on requests. 
  • Assist with the opening and closing the facility as needed. 
  • Attend all scheduled meetings 
  • Maintain a good level of physical fitness.  
  • Responds to medical emergencies; performs first aid and uses proper lifesaving equipment and techniques.
  • Provides customer service to patrons to include the handling of customer conflict and complaints.
  • Assists with the general maintenance and cleanliness of the pool, pool area, and locker rooms.

Travel Requirements
Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.



Pay Rates

$14.00 an hour.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills, as well as quality people skills.
  • Knowledge of the schools pool rules and policies.
  • Ability to adapt to emergency situations.
  • Ability to swim.

License/ Registration/ Certification
  • Currently certified as a lifeguard with a Nationally Recognized association and currently CPR & First Aid certified.

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Experience
Previous experience is preferred.
