
Hotel Houseperson-Full-Time(Bettendorf)
Job Description
The House Person supports the housekeeping department by maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of public areas, back-of-house spaces, and service areas throughout the hotel plus deep cleaning during shift. This role assists Guest Room Attendants by delivering supplies, removing trash and soiled linens, and ensuring housekeeping operations run efficiently. The House Person plays a vital role in upholding cleanliness standards, safety protocols, and a positive guest experience.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all hotel public areas, employee areas, hallways, elevators, stairwells, storage rooms, and linen rooms to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
Support Guest Room Attendants by delivering linens, towels, amenities, and supplies to rooms and housekeeping closets
Collect and transport soiled linens and trash to designated areas following safety and sanitation procedures
Vacuum, dust, mop, and spot-clean carpets, floors, walls, and furniture in assigned areas
Set up and maintain housekeeping storage areas and ensure supplies are properly stocked and organized
Respond promptly to housekeeping-related guest requests or relay them to the appropriate team member
Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damages to housekeeping leadership or engineering
Properly use, store, and maintain cleaning equipment and chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines
Follow key control, lost-and-found, and security procedures at all times
Assist with special cleaning projects, deep cleaning, or event setup/teardown as assigned
Adhere to hotel policies, brand standards, and workplace safety regulations
Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while working as part of the housekeeping team
Additional duties assigned
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to understand simple instructions.
Knowledge in safe and proper use of cleaning products.
Ability to work well with other people in a timely manner, according to standards.
Ability to use standard housekeeping equipment (cart, vacuum, cleaning supplies, mops, brooms and use of chemicals).
Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively
Safely work with provided cleaning chemical and equipment
Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period
Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period
Ability to work in a smoking and pet-friendly environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Two years’ experience in housekeeping field or in customer service leadership is preferred.
High School Degree or GED equivalent preferred.
