Job Summary:
Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an on-site position in our new Engineering Test Lab in Davidson, NC as a Electronics Lab Technician II. This technician plays a pivotal role in validating new products and electrical components including design and fabrication of controls simulators and test fixtures for Trane Technologies heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) or transport products and their components. By leveraging their expertise in electrical components and controls, and by collaborating across the engineering department, this technician helps bring our new products to market.
Where is the work:
This is an on-site position located at our Trane Technologies HQ campus in Davidson, NC. This will be a 1st shift position.
What you will do:
- Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Support product development activities by designing and fabricating commercial HVAC system simulators with modest guidance from Engineering.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair of Trane commercial HVAC technologies, controls, and electronics components
- Execute electronics testing procedures for VFDs and motors developed by engineering teams, using programmable AC supplies, load systems, and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes.
- Support end-to-end concept and validation controls testing with instrumentation and data acquisition setup with guidance from Engineering and Senior Technicians
- Drive for continuous improvement in job performance and laboratory procedures
What you will bring:
Candidates without a degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles
· Associate’s Degree in Electronics or Electromechanical (or related technical discipline) and at least 5-years of relevant experience; OR at least 10-years of relevant electronics experience is required.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
