Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking a Pathology Office Coordinator to join the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Our team of pathologists, molecular diagnosticians, and researchers collaborates to provide precision cancer care. In this role, you’ll support Hematopathologists and laboratory operations through a combination of administrative, clinical, and research responsibilities.
This is a great opportunity for someone with lab or hospital experience who is passionate about cancer research and precision medicine.
Role Overview:
Manage Hematopathologists’ calendars, including scheduling onsite and virtual meetings, preparing agendas, and coordinating follow-ups.
Triage clinical and urgent requests, routing them to the appropriate pathologist or lab team in a timely manner.
Enter and track orders for additional lab tests and procedures in Epic and follow up with internal teams and external laboratories as needed.
Maintain spreadsheets, databases, and documentation to support clinical work, research studies, and departmental reporting using Excel and other systems.
Prepare and submit administrative documents, including travel authorizations, expense reports, and check requests.
Provide professional phone and email coverage, communicating accurately and promptly with internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with the receipt, return, and documentation of outside pathology materials.
Participate in departmental projects and performance improvement initiatives.
Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Qualifications:
2-4 years of experience working in a lab or medical/hospital setting
Microsoft Office Suite expertise; familiarity with databases and research materials
Excellent Excel skills

Additional Information:
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, fully onsite position
MSK Joy Building: 321 E. 61st Street. Travel to Main Campus is required on an as-needed basis
