Job Description

The Ohio State Racing Commission is dedicated to the protection, preservation and promotion of horse racing and its related industry components.  In that connection, the Commission shall regulate pari-mutuel wagering and the licensing of all industry participants to ensure the protection of the wagering public and the integrity of the sport.  The Commission shall use its best efforts to promote horse racing and breeding to the citizens of Ohio.  The Commission shall cooperate with horse trainers, breeders, other licensees, county fairs, and commercial racetracks to accomplish these goals.

  • Schedule and provide clerical support for appointments and meetings

     

  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Manage multiple calendars
  • Receive, sort, review, and distribute all incoming and outgoing mail
  • Prepare certified and other mailings
  • Organize files, create correspondence, and prepare reports and documents for Executive Director
  • Assists in maintaining check log for all checks received by the agency 
  • Assists in reconciliation of tracks licenses and fines
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies
  • Other duties as assigned
