About the role:
As a leading member of the Corporate EHS Team, this role drives the development and implementation of Takeda’s EHS Management System. This role works across the enterprise to drive the continuous improvement of our EHS Management system, bringing clarity and simplification into process compliance while simplifying and maintaining Takeda’s ISO accreditations across the enterprise. The purpose of the EHS Management Systems Lead is to:
Serve as Takeda’s subject matter expert for corporate EHS management systems, overseeing alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and internal requirements.
Lead and coordinate the development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of corporate EHS management system documents, encompassing policies, standards, and operating procedures.
Drive strategic management system projects and lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, and forward evolution of EHS programs.
Leverage EHS management system audits, to proactively identifying gaps and inform strategic direction for Management System Compliance and evolution across Takeda’s operations.
Drive EHS Management System development that directly supports Takeda’s EHS performance and Risk reduction objectives
How you will contribute:
Develop and manage operating mechanisms for effective EHS Management System implementation, execution, and monitoring using a risk-based, continuous improvement approach.
Structure and simplify EHS management systems and technical standards, embedding clear roles, ownership, and accountability.
Build relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders and regulatory agencies to benchmark and elevate EHS management capability.
Lead management system projects and continual improvement, anchored by the monitoring of metrics such as pSIF/SIF incidents, audit nonconformances, and environmental data.
Develop and deliver Management System training, solutions, templates, and guidance supporting global site compliance with Takeda’s requirements.
Monitor regulatory, technology, and proactively informing system design and the long-term EHS transformation roadmap.
Prepare and deliver annual EHS Management Reviews, synthesizing data and identifying opportunities for continual improvement.
Lead EHS-related change management, including digital and compliance transformations, and adoption of best practices.
What you bring to Takeda:
Essential:
Degree in engineering, life sciences or similar field; 10+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, or similar manufacturing industry;
Minimum 5+ years experience or equivalent formal training on EHS Management System development and deployment at corporate level in multinational Manufacturing organisations.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, regulatory agencies and vendors
Experience in program management and demonstrated application of health and safety practices.
Expertise in ISO 14000 and 45000, EHS risk management and development of Management Systems, Structures and Standards.
