Duties & Responsibilities

This job plays a pivotal role in driving the success of the Treasury Management Sales Analyst team. This role formulates strategic approaches aligned with fee income and deposit growth objectives, while ensuring a robust risk and compliance framework for the sales analyst team. By fostering a sales-oriented culture, guiding team development, and providing leadership support, the Manager maximizes revenue generation, efficiency savings, and optimization initiatives while delivering exceptional service and solutions by managing pipelines, monitoring performance, and serving as an escalation point. Specific duties include:

  • Develops and executes strategies for the sales analyst team to align with fee income and deposit growth goals, ensuring effective targeting of priority client segments.
  • Establishes and maintains a robust risk and compliance framework for the sales analyst team, overseeing adherence to protocols and conducting recurring reviews.
  • In collaboration with the Commercial Leadership team, provides insights and guidance on revenue generation, efficiency savings, and optimization initiatives.
  • Provides direct guidance to supervisors/team leads, fostering coaching and training in proforma development, proposal creation, and customer profitability analysis for Treasury, Card, and Deposit opportunities.
  • Leads the management of sales pipelines, accurately forecasting resource requirements for upcoming priority client deals, and ensuring resource allocation meets demand.
  • Fosters and communicates the sales culture and vision within each division of the bank, aligning strategies with the overarching goals and values of the organization.
  • Oversees the creation of comprehensive statistical performance reports for the team, fostering sharing of insights with leadership across the bank to inform decision-making.
  • Acts as the escalation point for the sales analyst team and executive leadership, fostering timely solutions to challenges and facilitating effective communication.
  • Collaborates with supervisors and Commercial Sales colleagues to ensure timely completion of critical reporting, accurate sales reports, updated pipelines, and appropriate flow of won deals.
  • Monitors weekly Salesforce dashboards, fostering guidance to TPS Sales Analyst Supervisors/Team Leads to address discrepancies between sales opportunities and implementations.
  • Works with department staff on individual professional development and career development opportunities. Facilitates team members in creating individual goals and development plans that align with the department goals.
  • Works with UMB's Talent Acquisition team to identify and hire the most qualified and talented individuals to fill open positions within the team.
  • Provides information and on-going feedback to department staff regarding expectations and performance, salary adjustments and/or promotions.
  • Addresses and resolves all performance concerns and issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepares and conducts annual performance reviews within established deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management, Finance, or Related Field and 7+ years related experience in banking, preferably in sales and commercial banking
  • 5+ years supervisory, team lead, or other sales management experience
  • OR any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management and compliance protocols
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and negotiation abilities
  • Proficiency in utilizing CRM tools and software for performance tracking
  • In-depth knowledge of financial markets, industry trends, and regulatory changes
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to foster a sales culture and align strategies with organizational goals
  • Flexibility and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround requests
  • Strong organizational skills; Attention to detail
  • Effective time management skills, disciplined self-motivation, resolution-based problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently as well as in team environments; Good interpersonal and networking skills to work with other internal areas


Compensation Ranges:

US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York:

$100,710 - $157,630

US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin:

$91,950 - $144,320

US Employees in all other states not listed above:

$83,200 - $131,000
