Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead the Heidelberg Marriott Hotel, one of Marriott's flagship hotels in Germany and a key property within the DACH region.
Located in one of Germany's most historic and internationally recognised cities, this role presents a unique opportunity to lead a high-profile hotel serving a diverse mix of business, leisure, group and international travellers. Reporting to Marriott's Regional Vice President for DACH, you will be responsible for driving commercial performance, operational excellence, guest satisfaction and talent development while maintaining strong ownership partnerships.
This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a commercially minded, people-focused and strategically driven hotel leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences.
What You'll Be Responsible For Driving Commercial Success
- Develop and execute strategies that maximise revenue, profitability and market share.
- Leverage Marriott's global sales, distribution and loyalty platforms to drive performance.
- Identify new business opportunities and strengthen the hotel's position within the local market.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management teams to deliver sustainable growth.
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences across all touchpoints.
- Champion service standards, quality assurance and brand compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a strong presence throughout the hotel, engaging with guests and associates alike.
- Inspire, coach and develop a talented Executive Committee and leadership team.
- Create a culture of accountability, inclusion and continuous learning.
- Identify and develop future leaders through succession planning and talent development.
- Foster a workplace where associates feel valued, engaged and empowered to succeed.
- Translate Marriott's strategic priorities into actionable hotel-level initiatives.
- Use data, market insights and business intelligence to inform decision-making.
- Lead change effectively while maintaining operational stability and guest satisfaction.
- Balance short-term business performance with long-term growth opportunities.
- Build trusted partnerships with ownership representatives and key stakeholders.
- Communicate performance, opportunities and challenges with transparency and credibility.
- Align owner objectives with Marriott's brand strategy and operating standards.
- Represent the hotel within the local business community and strengthen external partnerships.
We're interested in speaking with proven hotel leaders who combine strong commercial acumen with a genuine passion for people and hospitality.
Ideal Background- Current General Manager, Hotel Manager, Resident Manager or Director of Operations within a premium or upscale international hotel environment.
- Demonstrated success leading complex hotel operations and delivering strong commercial results.
- Experience managing owner relationships and navigating multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong understanding of revenue management, sales strategy, financial performance and operational excellence.
- Previous experience within Marriott International or another global hospitality organisation is advantageous.
- Prior experience of managing end to end refurbishment
- German speaker essential
