Job Description

 

HSBMA LLC is a joint venture company to produce batteries for EVs. The joint venture plans to invest $5 billion to build an EV battery cell plant in Bartow County, Georgia. Hyundai Motor Group and SK On will each hold a 50 percent stake in the joint venture. The new plant created by the two companies is expected to start manufacturing battery cells the second half of 2026 with an annual production capacity of 35 GWh, enough to support the production of 300,000 EVs a year. The future Bartow County plant in northwest Georgia is strategically located near Hyundai Motor Group’s existing and planned U.S. facilities. Hyundai Motor Group broke ground last year on the new Hyundai Motor Group Meta plant America in southeast Georgia to make future Hyundai, Genesis and Kia EVs. 

 


Position Summary

The Employee Relations Sr. Specialist is responsible for promoting a positive workplace environment through employee communications and engagement. This position involves managing employee relations, conducting investigations into workplace issues, and working with management to promote employee engagement and retention. ER specialist will assist with employee training and support implementation of company's initiatives. We are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. This role is scheduled primarily on day shift, with standard working hours occurring during daytime operations; however, flexibility is required to provide occasional evening or night shift support based on employee, workforce, and business needs. 


Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Developing ER Strategy
  • Research labor circumstances, etc, and advising on a range of employee relations matters
  • Employee Morale, Motivation and Satisfaction Management: Implement measures to increase employee morale, motivation and satisfaction while reducing turnover
  • May conduct employee engagement surveys, work lifestyle programs, on-boarding programs, diversity and inclusion programs, and training, etc.
  • Creating performance management plans based on production needs
  • Train and coach manager and employee through the performance management process
  • Conduct training sessions ​for manager to improve employee relations and people skills
  • Investigate employee and supervisor complaints regarding conduct, performance and attendance
  • Mediate between employees
  • Monitor diversity/equal employment opportunity program compliance
  • Monitor internal complaints/ disputes that may lead to labor unionization
  • Monitor external labor union trends and movement
  • Promoting and addressing workplace safety issues
  • Oversee all disciplinary actions, up to, terminations for all salary and hourly personnel
  • Other task as necessary to meet the organization's objective

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in high volume manufacturing
  • 1-4 years leading a team or managing process
  • Working level English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Office Environment: Office attire.
  • Production Site: Must wear company-provided uniform and PPE including safety shoes, helmet, safety glasses, and portable gas measuring device.

Work Environment:

  • Usual office environment, production, and construction sites
