
Clinical Manager of Education
Job Description
Overview
The Clinical manager is responsible for leading and coordinating clinical education, policy development, and practice changes across all nursing units within the acute care hospital. This role ensures evidence-based practice, regulatory compliance, and high standards of patient care by overseeing clinical training programs, guiding policy implementation, and driving continuous quality improvement initiatives. The Clinical Manager collaborates closely with nursing leadership, interdisciplinary teams, the education department and hospital administration to promote clinical excellence, professional development and safe patient outcomes.
What you will do
- Develop, implement and evaluate comprehensive clinical education programs across all departments.
- Oversee annual competencies. Partner with unit leaders to create educational plans. Participate in root cause analyses and performance improvement projects.
- Identify learning needs through quality data, staff feedback, and regulatory updates. Promote evidence-based practice and support specialty certifications.
- Lead the development, review, revision, and implementation of nursing policies and procedures. Guide nursing teams through clinical practice changes, ensuring safe and effective adoption.
- Serve as a clinical resource for complex patient care issues including attending rapid responses and codes. Support initiatives to improve patient safety, patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to nurse educators and unit-based leaders.
- Maintain knowledge of current healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Required)
- Masters Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
Experience
- 5-6 years RN experience in acute care setting (Required)
- 2 years Leadership experience, to include clinical educator or management roles (Required)
- Demonstrated experience in clinical education, policy development, and performance improvement initiatives. (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) (Required) and
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)
- Specialty Certification (Preferred)
