Description of Work

The Physical Therapist will provide assessments and treatments per departmental and center policies/procedures for assigned caseload to include screenings, evaluations, consultations, planning and implementing Physical Therapy treatments and programs utilizing an interdisciplinary team process, or when a medical event has occurred requiring acute skills Physical Therapy services. Position will supervise Physical Therapy Assistants/Technicians to assist with service delivery to include delegating and teaching therapeutic techniques, monitoring treatment plans per licensure guidelines, provision of co-treatments with other disciplines, and changing goals/plans as evaluation indicates. The Physical Therapist will also assess in conjunction with Occupational Therapists seating systems, therapeutic equipment and support to promote mobility, optimal functioning, and safety and falls prevention, and complete comprehensive evaluations/assessments based on person center planning.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Grade Range: $71,698 - $118,304

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Considerable knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, methods, modality and their proper application.

  • Ability to effectively document physical therapy service delivery components/tasks.

  • Ability to communicate with a variety of professional and direct care staff regarding Physical Therapy services.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team process.

  • High proficiency in safe patient handling, using mechanical lifts, and executing dependent or maximum-assist transfers safely.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

Per G.S. 126-5(c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.

This Position Is Designated Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.
