
Thermal Spray / Plasma Machinist PVA
Job Description
A Thermal Spray Machining Operator performs oversight on the masking, and coating of component parts using thermal spray equipment (HVOF, plasma, or arc spray) to rebuild surfaces. They will validate the machinery setup and monitor parameters per customer's defined work instructions and perform post-coat inspections to ensure quality standards. They will also be a focal point to gather feedback from the operators on necessary improvements on the current defined work instructions.
Key Responsibilities
Setup & Operation Validate the thermal spray, HVOF, plasma, or arc spray equipment is being used according to technical specifications.
Surface Preparation: Validate grit blasting, masking, degreasing, and cleaning of parts prior to coating is done per technical requirements.
Inspection & Finishing: Measure parts using calipers/micrometers to ensure quality and perform, or coordinate, finish grinding/machining.
Work Experience
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job cards, and technical drawings.
Experience: Previous experience with thermal spray, metallurgy, or CNC machinery.
Physical Ability: Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a workshop environment with PPE (respirators, hearing protection).
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
