Heavy Diesel Mechanic - Leading Hand

Reporting into the Workshop Supervisor, the Plant Mechanic Leading Hand will join our New Machines Fleet Team on a Fixed Term basis with potential of extension.

The New Mining Machines Department at WesTrac specializes in providing cutting-edge machinery solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the mining industry. Our team is dedicated to delivering innovative, reliable, and efficient Caterpillar equipment to enhance operational productivity and safety. 

5 Month Fixed Term

Roster: 8days on, 6days off 12.5 hours (inclusive of 30min unpaid meal break)

 What You’ll Do: 

• Responsible for assisting the Plant Mechanics with machine builds on Caterpillar heavy earthmoving equipment
• Work alongside team member to manage and complete high volume tasks efficiently
• Promote, encourage and monitor safety to a high standard within the team

 Skills & Experience: 

• Australian Recognised Trade Certificate (Heavy Mobile Plant Technology)
• CAT equipment experience is highly desirable
• S26 – Highly desirable
• Team leadership experience with ability to lead from the front with Safety as this will be paramount
• Customer facing experience
