$59,066.00 - $88,599.00The Project Specialist – Insurance role sits within the Risk Management Services team at a healthcare organization, reporting directly to the Manager of Insurance & Business Operations. This position serves as a vital cross-functional bridge, coordinating insurance claims, renewals, and safety initiatives while engaging with internal medical staff, finance, and external brokers and insurance carriers.Essential Job Functions
1. Insurance & Risk Management Support
- Claims Administration: Process and report Auto, Cyber, Employment, and Property claims to insurance carriers while tracking financial updates.
- Data Management: Compile exposure data and claims metrics needed for insurance renewals, executive board presentations, and actuarial reports.
- Malpractice & Liability Requests: Manage the internal inbox to process malpractice certificates and claims history requests, and issue various liability certificates (e.g., Worker's Compensation, General Liability).
2. Project & Committee Coordination
- Safety Events: Assist in organizing cross-functional healthcare safety events, such as Patient Safety Week.
- Initiative Support: Prepare presentations for committees focused on promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
3. System Administration
- Database Management: Serve as the primary system administrator for the Safety Intelligence and Riskonnect Claims databases.
- User Support: Ensure data integrity, troubleshoot system issues, generate reports, and train staff on system utilization and upgrades.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, risk management, or a related field required.
- 4-5 years of experience in a healthcare, insurance, or risk management environment preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
- Must be highly organized with experience in data analysis, the ability to learn and work with multiple data systems and participate in team projects.
- Strong project coordination skills, with high attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Experience working with claims management software (e.g., Riskonnect, RLDatix) and electronic reporting tools.
- Ability to analyze and present data for decision-making and process improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interfacing with clinical and non-clinical teams.
Work Environment
- Standard healthcare administrative office environment.
- May require occasional presence in clinical areas or attendance at organization-wide meetings.
