What You'll Do
The Patient Engagement Specialist supports patient experience, patient engagement, and service excellence initiatives throughout the organization. Under the direction of the Patient Engagement Manager, this role works collaboratively with patients, families, clinical teams, and leadership to improve communication, patient satisfaction, service recovery, and overall patient-centered care delivery. The Patient Engagement Specialist assists with purposeful rounding, patient follow-up, survey coordination, resource connection, and education initiatives while promoting a positive and supportive healthcare environment.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Current understanding of patient care delivery, leadership, patient safety, and quality and process improvement
Knowledge of patient experience surveys (including CMS-mandated CAHPS surveys) and use of the results to drive improvement is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel, a plus.
Requirements:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
Patient engagement, patient experience, care coordination, or service excellence experience preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of clinical healthcare experience preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of healthcare workflows, discharge planning, and care coordination processes preferred.
Experience working within electronic medical record systems preferred.
Ability to maintain professionalism, compassion, and confidentiality in all patient interactions.
