At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training. 

 

  • Ongoing Full-Time employment
  • Based in Wollongong with flexible work arrangements, requiring attendance at the office two- three days per week
  • Salary ranges from $84,659 to $92,701 pa. plus superannuation and annual leave loading

 

About the role

The role delivers a range of customer services and responds to general enquiries from parents, schools, contractors and ASTP Officers to assist in the achievement of outstanding outcomes for the business unit.

The role forms part of a broader team that provides an efficient, effective and safe transport service to students with disability for government and non-government schools across New South Wales.

 

Key accountabilities

  • Provide customer support and respond to enquiries for the Assisted School Travel Program, delivering accurate and confidential information.
  • Process transport runs, maintain records, and undertake data entry, validation and reporting activities in line with established procedures.
  • Use departmental systems and technologies, including HPRM8/TRIM and Microsoft Office, to support efficient business operations.
  • Manage administrative tasks including records management, correspondence, mail processing, and maintenance of official documents and registers.
  • Prepare reports, briefings and other documentation to support operational and business requirements.

About you

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to support a diverse range of stakeholders professionally and empathetically.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate administrative work within tight timeframes.
  • High attention to detail and strong data entry and record management skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to learn new systems and work across a variety of business functions.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

 

Essential requirements of the role

  • Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
