Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician - Days to join our Kings Mountain, NC Site
The rate for this position is $23.41 - $36.38 per hour with scheduled pay increases at 6 months and 1 year of service.

Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. What you’ll do:
The primary function of this position is to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant manufacturing equipment in accordance with safety, preventive, and predictive maintenance systems and processes. Continuously improve plant equipment availability to help achieve the plant’s business goals and objectives. Work with engineering and other plant functions to implement safety, quality, efficiency and capital projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Use mechanical skills to perform highly diversified activities to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machines and equipment in support of the manufacture of heavy-duty & medium-duty truck transmissions. (including Fanuc robots and controls; NC/CNC equipment; and PLC and drive systems)
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments on equipment. Perform regular preventive and predictive maintenance on machines and equipment as scheduled.
• Read and interpret electric/electronic schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, mechanical blueprints; equipment manuals; and work orders. Use these to take action to perform required equipment maintenance.
• Maintain an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing department and plant goals.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Comply with plant safety guidelines, Life Saving Rules, and 5S+ standards.
• Support basic Heat Treat maintenance issues
• Note - for Heat Treat maintenance personnel additional responsibilities are as follows: Maintain and repair carburizing furnaces; Install and adjust gas and electric fire burners; Perform minor furnace refractory repairs; Understand endothermic gas and how it works with the heat treat process to troubleshoot and support
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance, or related field, and three(3) years electrical/automation experience; OR a certificate in Industrial Maintenance, or related field, and five (5) years of electrical/automation experience.
• Able to read and understand electric/electronic schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints in support of rebuild/repair of equipment.
• Legally authorized to work in the US on an on-going basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience with Siemens/Fanuc NC systems and Allen Bradley PLC a plus
• Working knowledge of Maximo asset management software is a plus
• Experience with predictive maintenance such as infrared, ultrasound technologies a plus
• Experience with AutoCAD a plus
• Displays professional conduct
• Good written and verbal communication skills
Note – for Heat Treat Support Maintenance Positions, 1+ year of Heat Treat Maintenance experience on carburizing furnaces is strongly preferred.
