Principal Technology Engineer - Workplace Technology, Field Agencies
As a Principal Technology Engineer your role will be to advance the Guardian Workplace, Communications and Collaboration capabilities and platforms for our Agencies & Producers partners delivering an integrated and AI-enabled workplace experience that enables the field to connect, collaborate, and transact seamlessly. As a field advocate your goal is to ensure agency/field can connect & transact more seamlessly leveraging Guardian approved technologies. The ideal candidate will layout the Workplace overall architecture for our field partners and solicit feedback from our home office and field/agencies partners, identify gaps, collaborate on feasible options with technology owners, gain buy in from stakeholders, implement solutions/capabilities & encourage/support adoption.
You will work in deep partnership with our messaging, workplace, help desk, cybersecurity and supporting field technology teams to define a roadmap and work with the impacted teams to prioritize and enhance field workplace and AI tools.
You are

You will
- Maximize the capabilities that Guardian already has access to, to promote and train, encourage adoption, in the field and agencies (i.e.: Microsoft, AI, etc.) as “value add”.
- Champion the adoption and implementation of AI technologies (e.g., copilots, meeting summarization, and productivity tools) across the field workplace.
- Facilitate feedback from field members on existing workplace tools, identify trends, areas that we can tune or influence vendors and work towards continuous improvements for field experience.
- Research and assist with implementation of new technologies and solutions that can improve the efficiency and security of the Windows collaboration environment for the field.
- Provide technical expertise and support for Microsoft-related issues, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
- Collaborate with technical leads to develop new and existing solutions targeting cloud and mobile platforms for field workplace.
- Research, analyze design, propose and deliver solutions that are appropriate for the workplace.
- Assist and shepherd new technology field requests – ensure a comprehensive list of “approved” field technology requests are maintained and business/technology owners are identified.
- Be responsible for key agency technology tools such as OS33, Storefront and email branding process
- Assist, as needed, the cyber lead with CDM setups and changes.
- Maintain the architectural runway for the workplace by creating an architectural vision and roadmaps for Guardian teams with the sole purpose of supporting our Field & Agency distribution arms.
You have
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, Systems Analyst or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Deep understanding of workplace and messaging technologies.
- Hands-on experience implementing AI-driven solutions (copilots, automation, insights) to improve productivity and streamline workflows.
- Experience working with field/sales personnel a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows 11 and other Microsoft operating systems, as well as Active Directory, Group Policy, and related technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within defined timelines.
- At least 5 years of experience in managing and securing Windows servers.
- Knowledge of multiple technologies including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Zoom, Hearsay, Microsoft CoPilot, Cloud services (AWS/ Azure), Mac/PC, and mobile.
Location
- Three days a week at a Guardian office in Holmdel, NJ, New York, NY or Bethlehem, PA.
Salary Range:
$118,980.00 - $195,465.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
