
Data Entry and Review Specialist
Job Description
Job Description Summary: The Data Entry and Review Specialist’s primary responsibility is to enter admission, discharge and diagnosis information for Division of Behavioral Health (DBH) clients into the CIMOR system. They will ensure that information from CIMOR and Ozark Center’s computer systems correspond. They will be assigned record reviews and report findings to the Quality Assurance Supervisor. They will also be responsible for retrieving records for review and for release of information in accordance with established Ozark Center Policy and Procedures, HIPPA and Missouri State Statutes. They will have a basic understanding of healthy interaction with individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance abuse and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often times have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. They will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help create a work environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Work Experiences:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in clinical/medical records or related field.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and resolve Avatar and CIMOR discrepancies prior to entry of all required information into the CIMOR computer system, to include client admissions, discharges and diagnoses regarding DBH clients.
- Monitor and audit medical records with the communication of results.
- Complete corrections to billing in the Electronic Medical Record utilizing set procedures.
- Provides education and training for providers and staff regarding documentation requirements and procedures.
- Assist the Quality Assurance Supervisor during audits by external parties/payers.
- Assist ROI department in processing of requests for client records, including timely correspondence and communication with requesting parties.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
- Normal Office environment.
- Typical physical demands include prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
- Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed.
