Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Millwright (Maintenance Technician) to support our Mississauga operations. This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving mechanical systems, particularly conveyors, in a fast-paced industrial environment.
This is a night shift position (Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM); however, initial training will be conducted on day shift for the first few weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial mechanical systems in line with 433A Millwright standards
Perform conveyor system repairs, rebuilds, and modifications (belts, pulleys, rollers, gearboxes, drives, guarding)
Conduct precision alignment, leveling, and balancing of rotating equipment
Fabricate and modify mechanical components including frames, guards, chutes, and brackets
Perform structural and mechanical welding (MIG, Stick; TIG is an asset)
Safely operate oxy-fuel, plasma cutting, and grinding equipment
Operate manual machining equipment (lathe, milling machine, grinders)
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
Diagnose mechanical failures using root-cause analysis and measurement tools
Install and maintain bearings, seals, couplings, hydraulic and pneumatic components
Execute preventive maintenance with a focus on reliability and uptime
Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators)
Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout, confined space, and hot work protocols
Work independently on night shift while collaborating with operations teams
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and communicate updates to leadership
Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications / Skills:
433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal certification (preferred)
Welding certification (CWB or equivalent) considered a strong asset
Proven experience with conveyor systems and fabrication-heavy environments
Strong manual machining skills (lathe, milling, grinding)
Ability to work independently on night shifts in an industrial setting
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
