Inventory Specialists provide data-driven, proactive and collaborative management of Epiroc USA inventory within our Service Center locations. Having the right product at the right time in the right place along with increasing customer satisfaction through innovative inventory management processes are critical to success in this role. The successful candidate will focus and follow-up on sustainable processes and competence development that result in Epiroc USA meeting financial targets and achieving sustainable, profitable growth.
Work Type: This position is onsite at the CSC NASA Configuration Center in Akron, OH. Work is performed primarily in a warehouse and office setting, with frequent physical activity and exposure to material handling equipment, trucks, and occasional outdoor conditions. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and moving materials up to 50 lbs, and safely operating or working around forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (training provided). Safety equipment and adherence to all Epiroc safety protocols are required at all times. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct inventory and process support of Tools and Attachments (TLD) Division products sold through the Epiroc USA channels.
- Utilize proactive approaches to inventory management to help ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction is achieved (as measured by SIFOT - Supply In Full On Time).
- Meet/exceed company expectations for working capital (as measured by Turns and Inventory as a % of Costs of Goods Sold).
- Lead the development of strategies that will create exposure and sales opportunities for items aging without demand to help keep Obsolete and Slow Moving Inventory (OSMI) to a minimum.
- Collaborate with Service Centers (including the Hydraulic Attachment Tools Service Center) and the Supply Chain organization to have processes and systems in place to ensure the highest possible chance of success in inventory planning.
- Bridge the forecasting and planning needs of the business with the work being done in the Supply Chain organization to best manage inventory.
- Partner with the Sales team to proactively review and discuss inventory at risk of becoming OSMI and develop plans to alleviate pending OSMI inventory.
- Introduce, execute and proactively follow-up on Continuous Improvement plans and activities, innovating whenever possible, to ensure we consistently improve our inventory management process and procedures.
- Meet/exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) including: OSMI (internal noncustomer facing); Inventory value as a % of COGS (internal non-customer facing); Availability metrics (customer facing); Delivery performance for complete order (customer facing); Transport income from external customers as % of transport cost (internal non-customer facing)
- Practice courteous and professional demeanor and communication with customers and internal staff at all times
Knowledge/Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of three years of supply chain management or warehouse management progressive work experience in a related industry
- Experience with inventory management software (e.g. ERP)
- Knowledge of Epiroc inventory policies and procedures are highly preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced verbal, written and presentation communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
