Millwright/Rigger - National Self Perform Operations

Position Description: Install, dismantle, maintain, and/or relocate machinery and heavy equipment on construction project jobsite. Essential Duties Key Responsibilities: Fully comprehend scopes of work per plans and specifications to complete job assignment. Align machines and equipment using hoists, cranes, jacks, hand tools, squares, rulers, micrometers, and plumb bobs. Connect power unit to machines or steam piping to equipment, and test unit to evaluate mechanical operation. Repair and lubricate machines and equipment. Assemble, disassemble, move, and install equipment. Use blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, and position parts using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts. Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks. Shrink-fit bushings, sleeves, rings, liners, gears, and wheels to specified items, using portable gas heating equipment. Dismantle machinery and equipment for shipment to installation site, usually performing installation and maintenance work as part of team. Operate engine lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications. Ensure Trade employees, subcontractors, and vendors to comply with Turner standards, safety codes, regulations, and jobsite security. Display high level of teamwork, integrity, commitment, and leadership in daily operations. Fully understand work instructions, project signage, and safety instructions from tool and equipment manufacturers and prepare and inspect tools prior use to ensure safe and working condition. Participate in daily Pre-Task Plans, follow safety expectations for operation of equipment and tools, select appropriate equipment for performing work, adhere to safety protocols to perform work, and wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). Ensure security of equipment and work area while conducting operations. Identify, communicate, and escalate problems and issues to supervisor for immediate resolution. Track production of completed tasks. Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees. Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
