JR0027236 Manager, Business Strategy - DSP
Job Description
A Little About Us
The Yahoo Product Strategy team is the driving force behind the global vision and execution of the Yahoo DSP. We sit at the intersection of innovation and execution, working closely with Product, Marketing, Finance, and Sales to ensure our platform exceeds the evolving needs of the world’s largest advertisers. Our team is dedicated to solving complex problems in Identity, Measurement, Sustainability, and Workflow to maintain Yahoo’s position as a leader in the programmatic ecosystem.
A Lot About You
As a Manager, Business Strategy, you will drive a portfolio of strategic initiatives that define the DSP’s competitive position and business direction. Reporting to the Director of Product Strategy, you will apply deep expertise in adtech business dynamics, marketplace mechanics, and strategic partnerships to guide high-impact decisions across the organization. You possess an experimentation-forward mindset, utilizing modern AI tools to accelerate market research, automate insight synthesis, and scale your influence across Yahoo DSP. You are a key thought leader internally and externally, adept at translating ambiguity into structured paths forward.
Responsibilities
Lead strategic analysis of adtech market trends, marketplace dynamics, and competitive positioning to shape product roadmap and business priorities.
Leverage enterprise AI assistants (such as Anthropic Claude) to rapidly synthesize complex industry reports, competitive movements, and regulatory changes into high-impact executive summaries.
Own the development of executive-level presentations, strategy decks, and QBR materials that communicate the DSP’s direction with clarity and conviction to senior leadership.
Build and manage strategic partnership frameworks, including evaluation of new partnership opportunities, white-label relationships, and ecosystem integrations.
Drive commercialization strategy by leading cross-functional workstreams across GTM, Sales, and Marketing—translating product capabilities into clear revenue and margin opportunities.
Partner with Product Management to define and prioritize the roadmap based on business impact, market signals, and partner requirements.
Identify and implement AI-driven workflow efficiencies within the team, replacing manual desk research and redundant analysis with automated or AI-assisted reporting models.
Represent Yahoo DSP in external-facing conversations with partners, agencies, and industry stakeholders; develop informed POVs on marketplace implications and platform positioning.
Collaborate with Finance to shape product margin strategy and fee structures aligned with market opportunity.
Mentor and develop junior team members, establishing best practices for strategic research, structured AI analysis, and presentation development.
Basic Qualifications
6+ years of experience in programmatic media strategy, adtech, or a closely related field (e.g., ad sales, platform partnerships, media investment).
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Deep expertise in the programmatic ecosystem, including DSP/SSP/exchange dynamics, auction mechanics, and evolving marketplace trends.
Proven track record of developing and delivering executive-level presentations and strategy decks to senior leadership audiences.
Demonstrated experience using generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to accelerate research, draft copy, or optimize analytical workflows.
Demonstrated experience in strategic partnership development, business development, or cross-platform integrations within adtech.
Strong business acumen with the ability to connect product capabilities to commercial outcomes and market opportunity.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to C-suite and cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong project leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently and drive outcomes across a matrixed organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience mentoring team members in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Familiarity with cookieless identity solutions, sustainability frameworks (e.g., responsible media), and supply path optimization.
Working knowledge of AI/ML applications in advertising technology, such as predictive bidding, audience modeling, or automated optimization.
Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) and using AI-driven analytics features to rapidly identify trend anomalies.
Active engagement with adtech industry communities, standards bodies (e.g., IAB, MRC), or thought leadership forums.
Experience working in a global, matrixed organization across multiple time zones.
The material job duties and responsibilities of this role include those listed above as well as adhering to Yahoo policies; exercising sound judgment; working effectively, safely and inclusively with others; exhibiting trustworthiness and meeting expectations; and safeguarding business operations and brand integrity.
