Optometry | Main ClinicThe Administrative Optometric Technician collaborates with opticians and interns to support patient care and eyewear delivery. This role involves processing, stocking, restocking, and tagging frames to ensure a comprehensive display is always available. The technician is responsible for the accurate, efficient, and organized traying of eyewear jobs, as well as the precise entry of invoice data, dispensing fees, and insurance information into Compulink. A thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and the ability to handle confidential patient information is essential.
Additionally, the technician assists in tracking ophthalmic material orders and communicates effectively with labs. They warmly greet patients, escort them to the appropriate area, and coordinate introductions to interns or opticians. The role includes answering phones, checking voicemail, returning messages, conducting eyewear notifications, and scheduling dispenses and selections as well as monitoring and ordering ophthalmic supplies and resale items.
The technician works closely with supervisors and other college personnel to meet business and regulatory requirements, ensuring consistent delivery of quality care. Other optometric and administrative duties may be assigned as needed, including tasks at satellite or main campus clinics.

Minimum Class Requirements Per CCS Class Specs:
High School Diploma or GED
Desired Experience:
One year of experience in an optometric or health care setting is desired
PC Knowledge and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
Graduate of a two- year optometric technician program, optician, or apprentice optician
Knowledge of practice management software
Understanding of medical and administrative procedures.
Pay Rate: $15.15- $19.79
Salary offer will be determined from candidate education, experience, internal equity, and budget.
