Senior Product Manager
Job Description
Position Overview:
Lobster is expanding our Data Platform and middleware solutions that connect heterogeneous systems across supply chain networks. We're seeking a Senior Product Manager (m/f/x) to join our Product & Engineering team, reporting directly to the Director of Product.
This role focuses on backend infrastructure, data transformation, and system integration. You'll own product strategy for our middleware platform that transports and transforms data between enterprise systems using Java-based architecture.
Ready to make an impact?
You’ll get to take ownership of:
- Participate in our product strategy for our middleware platform and data integration services
- Collaborate with Engineering Leads on technical architecture decisions for data transformation pipelines
- Work directly with enterprise customers in supply chain and logistics industries
- Conduct technical discovery sessions to understand complex integration requirements
- Align with Director of Product and cross-functional teams on platform evolution
- Support technical product launches with Engineering and Sales teams
We’d love to meet someone with:
- 5+ years managing backend-focused, technical B2B products (not consumer apps or UI-heavy products)
- Experience with middleware, data integration, or infrastructure software
- Understanding of APIs, system connectors, data protocols, and enterprise integrations
- Background with Java-based systems or similar backend technologies is a plus
- Enterprise B2B SaaS experience withcomplex B2B products, customers, and workflows
- Supply chain or logistics domain experience is a plus, not a prerequisite — a strong technical PM can learn the domain quickly by interviewing users and domain experts
- Track record working withenterprise systems such as SAP,ERP, TMS, orWMS, orsimilarbackend-heavy B2Bplatforms
- Experience with on-premises deployment and hybrid cloud solutions
- Proven ability to work closely with engineering teams
- Experience translating complex technical requirements into product specifications
- Understanding of modern development methodologies and technical delivery processes
- Operates as a true product manager, not solely a delivery-focused product owner
- Creates product framing independently, rather than only executing within a framing someone else provides
- Forms clear opinions and recommendations from messy, ambiguous domain input
- Synthesizes domain complexity into a practical business recommendation — what it means, whether it matters now, and whether to prioritize or park it
- Strong communication skills for technical stakeholder discussions
- Data-driven decision-making using product analytics and customer insights
- Fluent English required; German B2+ level strongly preferred
You can look forward to:
- Opportunity to work flexibly from home
- Modern offices in Germany and the Netherlands
- A personal Learning & Development budget
- Up to 30 days of remote work per year from any EU country
- Company Pension plan
- 30 vacation days a year
- 2 additional paid days off on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve
- Location-specific benefits packages (your recruiter will be happy to provide more details during your first chat)
- Company-sponsored business travel
For this role, we are open to working with specialists based in Germany or the Netherlands. Whether you prefer working on-site at our offices in Tutzing, Amsterdam, or remotely from a location within one of these countries, we’re happy to accommodate your preferred working style.
If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply!
