General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. GA-EMS’ expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions support critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide.

We are seeking a Project Manager to support the Quality organization in managing cross-functional initiatives that drive compliance, operational efficiency, and successful program execution. This role is responsible for coordinating Requirements Compliance Matrices (RCMs), managing projects from planning through delivery, and supporting proposal and contract activities by ensuring requirements are accurately captured, tracked, and executed.

The Project Manager will collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Proposals, Contracts, and other functional teams to ensure requirements are understood, documented, and executed effectively throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires strong organizational skills, cross-functional leadership, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Planning, Collaboration and Execution
  • Develop and manage project plans to meet scope, schedule, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • Track timelines, milestones, and deliverables from initiation through completion.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to assign, prioritize, and execute project tasks.
  • Identify risks and issues and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project performance.
  • Coordinate activities required to support proposal development and contract requirements.
  • Assist in organizing and documenting technical and operational requirements.
Requirements Compliance Matrix (RCM) Management
  • Manage RCMs following distribution and ensure requirements are properly assigned and tracked.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program teams to validate and close requirements.
  • Maintain visibility into requirements status and ensure timely completion.
Project Monitoring & Reporting
  • Monitor project performance against milestones and objectives.
  • Maintain project documentation, including plans and requirements tracking.
  • Provide regular status updates and reports to stakeholders and leadership.
Process Improvement
  • Identify and implement improvements to project management processes and workflows.
  • Support tools, reporting methods, and documentation standards that enhance visibility and efficiency.
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve project outcomes and customer satisfaction.
Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive business and customer information.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
