Description
Dogwood Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is expanding to the Atlanta (Dunwoody), GA area in 2026, and we are seeking an experienced Veterinary Cardiology Technician to join our growing specialty team.
This is a high-acuity, non-entry-level role designed for technicians who thrive in advanced cardiology, diagnostics, and critical patient care. You’ll work alongside board-certified cardiologists and specialty clinicians, supporting complex cases ranging from congestive heart failure and arrhythmias to congenital heart disease and advanced cardiac diagnostics.

Cardiology Technician Responsibilities
- Assist with cardiology exams and patient assessments
- Monitor and manage patients with:
- Congestive heart failure (CHF)
- Arrhythmias
- Congenital and acquired heart disease
- Provide high-level nursing care for cardiac patients
- Support long-term management of chronic cardiac conditions
- Assist with and support:
- Echocardiograms (ultrasound of the heart)
- Electrocardiograms (ECG)
- Holter monitor placement and interpretation support
- Prepare and restrain patients for cardiac imaging and diagnostics
- Ensure accuracy in cardiac data collection and reporting
- Perform advanced anesthesia induction, intubation, and monitoring for cardiac patients
- Monitor using:
- ECG and rhythm interpretation
- Capnography and pulse oximetry
- Blood pressure (IBP/NIBP)
- Adjust monitoring approach for high-risk cardiac anesthesia cases
- Recognize and respond to cardiac instability or changes in patient status
- Partner with ER and ICU teams for continuity of care
- Assist in stabilization of cardiac emergencies (e.g., CHF crisis, arrhythmias)
- Participate in CPR/code response (RECOVER guidelines preferred)
- Maintain accurate, detailed medical records
- Ensure proper handling of cardiology equipment and diagnostics
- Follow hospital protocols and safety standards
- Support efficient workflow within a specialty referral environment
Who We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in:
- Specialty, ER, ICU, or high-acuity veterinary practice
- Strong background in:
- Anesthesia monitoring and patient care
- Experience with:
- Advanced monitoring equipment (ECG, BP, pulse ox, capnography)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credentials (highly valued, not required)
- Cardiology or internal medicine
- Echocardiography or ECG interpretation support
- Experience with Holter monitors or cardiac diagnostics
- RECOVER CPR certification
- Advanced training in anesthesia or ECC
- Calm, focused, and decisive under pressure
- Highly detail-oriented with strong technical precision
- Passionate about cardiac medicine and patient care
- A collaborative team player who communicates clearly
- Motivated to grow in a specialty referral environment
