Job Description
Position Summary: The Transportation Temperature Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of temperature-sensitive goods within the Warehouse Distribution Center. This position is responsible for accurately recording the temperature of all refrigeration units and managing the reception of delivery drivers upon their arrival. Main Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Receive incoming drivers upon arrival, conduct interviews and prepare documentation related to: Temperature monitoring and recording Continuous Temperature Manifest Temperature Yard Truck Temperature Inspection of trucks and refrigerated units—if any defects or damage are found, report them to the refrigeration staff or a mechanic. Verify that all cargo slings are present upon return from the route. Check the fuel tanks for any damage and verify whether they are full or empty. Identify any malfunctions in the refrigeration equipment. Verify pre-cooling of route trucks – Ensure they are properly loaded. • Verify dock coolers – Ensure they are properly loaded. Enter data into the continuous temperature monitoring system; verify daily whether the "cold" and "cooler" units have been returned – investigate and generate an email. Enter temperature data for the client regarding meat (10:1 ratio) [Cold] and lettuce [Cooler]. Report any incidents that occurred during the route. Document possible refrigeration equipment malfunctions Identify whether there were any delays in deliveries or at restaurant stops. Verify products returning from routes, ensuring that: They have the corresponding code Returned products are returned to their designated areas within the warehouse. Record temperature information in the appropriate system. Required Skills and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Communication skills (verbal & written) Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is a plus. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication abilities to effectively interact with drivers and team members. Proficiency in basic computer skills for data entry and reporting. Microsoft Office – excel knowledge This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
