Your Opportunity

BDO Law LLP is looking for a Senior Legal Assistant to join our team. You’ll be part of a dynamic team, ensuring that operations run smoothly and that our clients receive exceptional service.  This is a net new position, and the successful candidate will own the following responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and prepare legal documents, contracts, corporate governance materials, and other legal correspondence.
  • Support legal teams during due diligence processes by gathering and organizing necessary documents and data.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements for corporate clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, and other internal departments to ensure smooth legal processes.
  • Conduct legal research and provide summary reports on various legal topics, cases, and legislation.
  • Maintain and organize legal files and documentation, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, including accountants and consultants, to support cross-functional legal services.

Your experience and education

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in a corporate or tax law setting.
  • Diploma or certification from a recognized law program.
  • Proficiency in corporate law procedures, legal terminology, and corporate compliance.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience with corporate filing systems, minute book management, and electronic legal documentation.
  • Familiarity with Canadian business law, regulations, and corporate governance.

The expected range of compensation for this role is $67,000 - $101,000 annually
