Job Description

About the Job

At Bohler, we empower the ambitious to become the accomplished. That starts with our own people—and it’s why our Benefits Administrator plays such a critical role in helping our teams thrive.
In this high-impact, employee-focused role, you’ll be the go-to resource for benefits and leave administration, helping employees understand and maximize their Total Rewards. From delivering a seamless new hire experience to guiding team members through complex life events, you’ll bring clarity, care, and compliance to everything you do.
At Bohler, you’ll work with purpose, surrounded by a supportive team that values collaboration, continuous improvement, and doing the right thing—for our people and our communities. This is a role designed to evolve: every process you own becomes a candidate for automation and AI-assisted workflows, every manual task a target for elimination, freeing you to take on increasingly complex, high-value work.

What You’ll Do

Total Rewards & Benefits
•       Administer comprehensive benefit offerings: medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, EAP, disability, legal, 401(k), and more
•       Deliver engaging new hire benefits orientations and guide employees through life events and claims
•       Lead COBRA administration and manage supplemental wellness programs
•       Support Open Enrollment strategy and execution, including communications and employee support
•       Collaborate with HR Systems to enhance Total Rewards statements and reporting
•       Keep documentation current and benefits information clear and accessible across platforms

Leave of Absence (LOA)
•       Administer all leave programs: FMLA, ADA, disability, parental, military, and more
•       Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies
•       Coordinate timesheets, payroll adjustments, and return-to-work processes with care and accuracy

Innovation & Technology
•       Actively identify and implement opportunities to automate, simplify, and redesign benefit and leave processes, leveraging AI tools and emerging HR technology to drive efficiency
•       Support data preparation and analytics used in HR dashboards and leadership reporting, partnering with the People Analytics & Insights team
•       Approach all work with an innovation mindset, continuously seeking ways to improve processes and create better solutions for employees and the business

Employee Engagement & Communication
•       Be the first point of contact for benefit and leave questions—providing timely, accurate, and compassionate guidance
•       Partner with internal communications and systems teams to keep employees informed and empowered

Vendor & Compliance Management
•       Liaise with benefits vendors to ensure strong performance and issue resolution
•       Maintain invoice accuracy and support contract renewals and vendor evaluations
•       Assist in regulatory reporting: 1095-Cs, HIRD, Medicare Part D, PCORI, and more
•       Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and mitigate risk

What You Bring

Required
•       3+ years of relevant HR experience, including benefits and leave administration
•       Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
•       Strong knowledge of benefits regulations: ERISA, Section 125, FMLA, ADA
•       Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel including data analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet management
•       Experience with HRIS systems (Workday, ADP, etc.) and benefits platforms
•       Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
•       High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality

Preferred
•       SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or CEBS certification
•       Experience presenting benefits information and creating employee-facing content
•       Familiarity with process improvement and wellness program design
•       Demonstrated comfort with AI tools, automation platforms, or emerging HR technology; experience applying these to streamline administrative workflows is a plus
