Position Overview

The Accounting Manager, APAC serves as the region’s senior-most accounting leader and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting across APAC entities

This role oversees the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; leads technical accounting; ensures adherence to global accounting policies; strengthens internal controls; and partners with leadership to drive financial excellence and operational efficiency throughout the region.  In addition to the Singapore entity ownership, this leader provides regional oversight, strategic guidance, and continuous improvement leadership across all APAC locations

The Accounting Manager is a key partner to the International Controller and plays an essential role in transformation, technology optimization, and cross-functional collaboration

The Accounting Manager should also be able to work in a matrix organization and have regular interaction with the local leadership who is located in the Singapore office, but as well with our Center of Excellence which is located in India.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

Regional Financial Leadership

  • Serve as the primary accounting leader for all APAC legal entities, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely consolidated financial reporting for the region.
  • Lead and standardize financial close processes across APAC, driving consistency, efficiency, and on‑time delivery.
  • Provide critical review and challenge of financial results, including variance analysis, key estimates, and emerging risks.
  • Partner with Corporate Finance to ensure alignment on accounting treatment, policies, and reporting expectations.

 

Financial Reporting & Governance

  • Oversee preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control requirements, including SOX, and lead remediation actions where gaps exist.
  • Oversee statutory audits and regulatory filings across multiple APAC countries, ensuring timely completion and strong audit outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain regional accounting policies, SOPs, and governance frameworks.

 

Technical Accounting & Complex Transactions

  • Lead technical accounting research and application for the APAC region across areas such as revenue recognition, leases, foreign currency, intercompany transactions, reserves, and impairments.
  • Stay current on emerging accounting standards and lead regional implementation of new guidance.
  • Support and/or lead accounting components of regional M&A activities, integrations, restructuring, and system or process transformation initiatives.

 

Systems, Technology & Process Improvement

  • Oversee regional use of OneStream and ERP systems, ensuring accuracy, data governance, and effective role management.
  • Drive automation and process optimization through technology, digital tools, and best‑practice adoption.
  • Serve as APAC Finance lead for system enhancements, global projects, and process standardization initiatives.

 

Leadership, Team Development & Cross‑Functional Partnership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting professionals across APAC, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide career development, coaching, and succession planning for regional finance talent.
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Commercial, HR, Operations, and other teams to support business decision‑making.
  • Communicate financial information and accounting implications clearly to non-financial stakeholders across the region.

 

Must be able to travel about 10% of the time and there will be other duties as assigned as we continue to evolve our business. 

 

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and regional statutory accounting standards across APAC.
  • Demonstrated expertise with complex accounting matters and financial reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency with OneStream, ERP systems, and Excel (or comparable analytics tools).
  • Demonstrated knowledge on GST regulations.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, SOX, and regional compliance requirements.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams across multiple countries or locations.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships while managing competing priorities.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years leading teams, ideally across multiple countries.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with M&A integration, systems implementation, or finance transformation is desirable.
