Operations Manager

The Operations Manager of Project Operations is responsible for all aspects of the Bastian Solutions Custom Automation, Conveyor and Robotics Integration including Project Management, Site Management, and Installation. It includes the Safety, Quality, and Financial performance of our project execution functions. The Operations Manager of Project Operations works with and promotes the products and services of all the other Bastian Solutions business units for their mutual success and assists the Executive Leadership in executing strategic business goals.

·        General Responsibilities:

·        Lead and monitor performance of Solution Delivery project teams to ensure that the clients' needs are met on time with maximum productivity and efficiency.

·        Be a champion for safety and quality initiatives for Project Management

·        Guide resource planning, anticipating near and long-term staffing needs to meet project demands and balance schedules appropriately.

·        Lead profit/loss reporting and project level forecasting in partnership with finance

·        Think strategically, navigate ambiguity, and partner with leaders on everything from daily operations to long-term strategy in the spirit of innovation and creating solutions for clients and value for Bastian Solutions.

·        Lead and manage the project operation team, including recruiting, hiring, training, developing, evaluating, and setting priorities. Provide instruction on complex techniques and direction on projects. Evaluate the effectiveness of the organizational structure and programs to ensure success, development of employees, and appropriate use of resources.

·        Identify, clarify and resolve project management and finance issues; often serve as a managerial escalation point for problems from customers and other departments.

·        Lead teams to accomplish strategic initiatives and goals for Solution Delivery

·        Leads subordinate managers through conflict resolution (employees, customers, vendors, etc.)

·        Creation and management of effective incentive systems based on superior performance.

·        Continually Kaizen internal and external processes (automation, policies, procedures, etc.)

·        Consistent communications with appropriate cross functional stakeholders

·        Foster good working relationships with other Bastian business area leaders

·        Maintains strong customer relationships (the strength of a distributor / systems integrator).

·        Effective supplier relationships and contracts

·        Review major proposals for accuracy and risk assessment (terms and conditions) prior to release.

·        Undergraduate Engineering Degree with 10- 15 years practical business experience.

·        Master’s Degree is not required but preferred.

·        Proven history of leading profitable and growing operating units with high customer satisfaction

·        Proven track record of delivery.

·        Strong computer skills with: MS Office, CRM, and MS Project

·        Process driven personality.

·        Safe work environment on site and in the office

·        Delighted customers, as measured by customer surveys and repeat business

·        Develop and implement standardization and process to help ensure success of all Custom Automation, Conveyor and Robotics projects.

·        Develop companywide metrics and analytical capabilities for Billable Ratios and Utilization. This may include new Power BI reports and tools that can be used by anyone who monitors time of their employees.
