Job Description

This role is responsible for supporting the immigration requirements of client employees, ensuring compliance with applicable immigration laws and regulations while delivering a high level of client service. The Senior Associate plays a key role in managing immigration matters, whether aligned to a global account or a specific geographic region. This position requires close collaboration with corporate clients, employees, legal teams, government entities, and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient, compliant, and well-coordinated immigration processes. The role is critical in navigating complex immigration procedures and driving successful outcomes for all parties involved.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate clients requiring immigration support.

  • Understand each client’s specific immigration needs and help develop tailored immigration solutions.

  • Manage the end-to-end immigration process for employees, including visa applications, work permits, and related case matters.

  • Prepare, review, and submit immigration forms, petitions, and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Interpret and apply immigration laws, regulations, and policies to support client compliance and mitigate risk.

  • Advise clients on immigration processes, timelines, requirements, and potential risks.

  • Maintain accurate and well-organized case files, ensuring all relevant documentation is securely stored and easily accessible.

  • Support commercial awareness by recording time accurately and in a timely manner, assisting with billing activities, and identifying scope creep where applicable.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, government authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless exchange of information.

  • Liaise with network offices, third-party providers, consulates, embassies, and immigration authorities to obtain updated immigration rules, monitor case progress, and resolve issues.

  • Handle unexpected issues arising during the immigration or implementation process with professionalism and efficiency.

  • Provide clients with regular updates regarding case status and changes to immigration rules or procedures.

  • Use a broad range of tools and techniques to identify and extract insights from trends within the business area.

  • Respond to client inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.

  • Support the onboarding and training of new or junior team members on case management processes, immigration forms, and applications.

  • Stay current on relevant immigration laws, regulations, policies, and industry developments.

  • Depending on the service line, support the implementation and use of relevant technology platforms and tools.
     

Preferred Skills / Experience

  • Experience managing immigration casework in a corporate, consulting, or professional services environment.

  • Strong knowledge of immigration processes, documentation, and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Client-service mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience training or mentoring junior team members is an asset.

  • Commercial awareness, including time recording and billing support, is preferred.
     

Education / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Relevant immigration, mobility, legal, or client-service experience preferred.
