Job Description
Praetorian Power Protection, the leader in NETA testing and staff augmentation for the mission-critical industry, has partnered with an ENR 400 General Contractor in the Indianapolis area to place an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned PM who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to work for a well-established contractor with a strong institutional client base — including colleges, universities, K-12 districts, municipalities, and healthcare systems.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
You'll own your projects from start to finish. That means leading one or more large-scale construction phase projects, managing project staff, and being the person the owner calls when they need answers. Day to day, you can expect to:
- Review plans and specs for accuracy and constructability — catching problems before they become field issues
- Write your own General Conditions and build out baseline schedules for subs and self-performing work
- Stay on top of project costs, change management, RFIs, and owner pay apps from kickoff through closeout
- Manage shop drawings and submittals and keep them moving so the field isn't waiting on you
- Write and execute subcontracts and purchase orders and hold your subs accountable to what they signed
- Run regular jobsite coordination meetings and keep everyone aligned
- Own the client relationship — communicate proactively, solve problems early, and make the owner feel like they're your only client
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with CMAR and/or Design-Build delivery
- Background managing institutional projects — higher ed, K-12, healthcare, or municipal work
- At least 3 years of PM experience with a commercial construction company — you've been in the seat, not just supporting it
- Strong understanding of project sequencing and scheduling — you know how a job is supposed to flow
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs at an advanced level
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience
- Performance bonus eligibility
- Vehicle allowance
- Full benefits package — medical, dental, and vision
- 401(k) with employer match
- PTO plus company holidays
