Regional Coordinator
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Regional Coordinator provides operational leadership, coaching, and program oversight across multiple correctional facilities to ensure high-quality educational programming. They support Site Managers and instructional teams in meeting statewide goals, promoting instructional excellence, maintaining compliance, and strengthening collaboration with IDOC facilities.
Regional Coordinators serve as a critical link between statewide strategy and site-level implementation, ensuring programs meet performance metrics, follow Ivy Tech and IDOC policies, and foster positive professional culture. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and the ability to drive results in complex environments.
Major Responsibilities:
Site Operations & Program Oversight
- Provide direct leadership and operational support to Site Managers and staff at assigned facilities.
- Ensure consistent delivery of ABE, Literacy, HSE, CTE, and IET programming.
- Conduct regular monthly facility visits
- Identify facility needs and operational barriers; collaborate with State Director to resolve.
- Monitor instructional coverage, scheduling, and student engagement.
- Support tool control, lab safety, and compliance related to CTE programming.
Performance, Data & Accountability
- Monitor performance metrics including enrollments, completions, MSGs, HSE, CTE certification, and distance learning.
- Identify performance gaps and implement corrective action strategies.
- Support data entry accuracy for InTERS, Banner, Delta, and other systems.
- Review quarterly reports and CQI submissions; provide coaching.
- Track testing outcomes and support increased credential attainment.
Staff Coaching & Development
- Coach and support Site Managers, teachers, and support staff.
- Conduct walkthroughs, coaching conversations, and reinforce instructional best practices.
- Support staff in cultivating strong, positive internal cultures.
- Assist in addressing personnel and performance concerns.
Compliance & Policy Support
- Ensure compliance with Ivy Tech and IDOC policies.
- Support compliance for testing, Special Education, accommodations, and case conferences.
- Serve as a resource on policy application and documentation.
- Monitor safety, IDOC expectations, and ACA requirements.
IDOC & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with Wardens and custody partners.
- Meet with facility leadership at least twice annually, or more as needed.
- Attend graduations, recognition events, and facility meetings.
- Communicate facility needs to Ivy Tech and IDOC leadership.
Technology & Instructional Tools
- Promote effective use of technology including ViaPath tablets and online instructional platforms.
- Report technology challenges and coordinate troubleshooting.
Resource & Inventory Management
- Monitor textbook, supply, and equipment needs.
- Support Site Managers in inventory processes and tool compliance.
Hiring & Staffing Support
- Assist HR in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and recommending staff.
- Support onboarding plans and connect staff to statewide training.
Professional Development
- Participate in the creation and delivery of professional development.
- Support PLCs, coaching sessions, and statewide PD.
Communication & Collaboration
- Participate in Ivy Tech CE leadership meetings.
- Communicate site updates, priorities, and expectations.
- Support dissemination of program successes.
Continuous Quality Improvement
- Support site CQI planning and implementation.
- Implement responsive remediation and monitor follow-through.
- Complete assigned special projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in teaching, administration, curriculum implementation, testing, or student support
- Experience in correctional, adult education, workforce development, or secondary/postsecondary environment
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel regularly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- Prior supervisory experience
- Experience coaching educators or site leaders
- Experience managing multi-site operations
