Graduate Analyst, Fixed Income - Challenger Investments
Job Description
Challenger Limited is an ASX-listed investment management firm managing $128.2 billion in assets (as at 31 December 2025). Life with us is fast moving and always exciting. Together we’re driving to deliver our vision to provide our customers with financial security for a better retirement.
We achieve this goal by providing a work environment where people from diverse backgrounds, with a range of skills and experiences can contribute and succeed.
Graduate Analyst, Fixed Income - Challenger Investments
This is where a career in fixed income begins.
If you're genuinely curious about how credit markets work and want to build that knowledge from the ground up, this is where you start.
From day one, your analysis will feed live investment decisions. You'll work on real transactions, and have accountability inside a small, high-performing team. You'll be supported by senior mentors and real on-the-job learning - and with a strong track record of developing junior analysts, Challenger Investments is a place where careers are genuinely built.
The technical depth and professional network you gain here will stay with you throughout your career.
What we can offer you
Real responsibility from day one - live transactions, real credit decisions, and technical depth that few graduate roles can match.
A high-performing team where your contribution is visible, valued, and invested in.
Mentoring from senior team members, flexible working, and benefits built around you, not just the role.
Who you are
You're a final year student or recent graduate (within two years) with a degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Maths, Engineering, or similar. You have a strong academic record and a genuine interest in fixed income. Beyond that, we're open. What will set you apart:
You're collaborative - as comfortable supporting others as leading.
Your written and verbal communication is strong - your work will reach portfolio managers and investment committees.
You know Excel well; Power BI, SQL, or Python is a bonus.
What you’ll be doing
As an Analyst the work is collaborative, and impact driven - no two days look the same. You'll work across investment analysis, portfolio operations, and reporting. Your day could involve:
Getting involved in investment analysis - working alongside portfolio managers to explore opportunities across public and private Asset Backed Securities (ABS) and structured finance markets, including research, credit summaries, and market updates. You'll be learning how these decisions get made from the people making them.
Building analytical tools and models - developing and maintaining financial models to support deal analysis, cash flow modelling, and portfolio monitoring. You don't need to arrive with all of this - you'll build these skills on the job.
Contributing to reporting - helping produce regular client and internal reports and supporting cash flow monitoring across the ABS portfolio. Your work will have real visibility.
Supporting the broader team - preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders, and getting involved in ad hoc projects, process improvements, and cross-team work. There's plenty of variety.
The team
Challenger Investments is part of the ASX-listed Challenger Group - a leading provider of retirement solutions. Since 2005 we have managed fixed income investments for Challenger’s own balance sheet along with a wide range of institutional, wholesale, and retail investors.
Our team based in Sydney and London now manages A$17 billion in fixed income investments across four funds and multiple bespoke separate accounts, sourcing opportunities across public and private credit markets.
To Apply
Submit your CV and a short cover letter telling us why fixed income interests you, and what you'd bring to the team. Academic transcripts are welcome but not required at this stage.
We recruit on an ongoing basis and will close the role once we've found the right person - so we'd encourage you to apply early.
