Our Radiology Diagnostic department provides comprehensive imaging services, including X-rays and fluoroscopy. These diagnostic tools are essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Radiological Technologist Provides health care services applying pulsed x-ray energy to assist with diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure.
Description:
Performs high-quality diagnostic imaging exams in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
Verifies patient identity, medical history, and exam information while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning throughout procedures.
Applies radiation safety standards, including ALARA principles, for patients, staff, and self during all imaging procedures.
Produces and manages diagnostic images, ensuring accurate documentation and image archiving within PACS and the electronic health record (EHR).
Administers contrast materials and performs peripheral venipuncture when indicated while monitoring patients for adverse reactions or changes in condition.
Performs equipment quality control, reports malfunctions or safety concerns, and maintains department supplies and readiness.
Collaborates with Radiologists, Nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to support efficient patient flow and scheduling.
Supports accreditation, compliance, staff training, and adherence to hospital policies, infection control, and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
Current Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT) License required.
Must obtain American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire if not current upon hire.
Must obtain and maintain American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography (RT(R)) within 1 year of hire.
