Facility Name: North Kansas City Hospital

Position: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) 

Shift: PRN Days

Schedule: Weekends/Holidays  8:00am -4:30pm OR 8:30am -5:00pm (employee choice-in advance)

More about our team: North Kansas City Hospital is 48-bed Acute Rehab Unit (ARU) located in NKC Health Main Hospital Building. Our Unit is a very fast-paced yet fun environment with endless opportunities to learn and grow! We have an amazing team with over 25 FT therapists!

What you will do in this role:

 

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  •  Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. 

  • Essential Functions Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapists using appropriate modalities. 

  • Seeks consultation as necessary. 

  • Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. 

  • Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist. 

  • Documents services provided and patient response/progress. 

  • Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. 

  • Assists with patient discharge planning. 

  • Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs. 

  • Non-Essential Functions

 

Qualifications:

· Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

· Current and unrestricted Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state where services are rendered

  • Associate’s degree Required; Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required

· Current CPR certification

· Strong organizational and communication skills

Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 30 days of hire Required Skills
