The Opportunity
We are looking for a Plant Operative to join our team at the Huddersfield Asphalt Express site. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to build a long-term career within a busy operational environment.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 06:00–15:00, with Saturday shifts from 06:00–10:00. The role would suit someone who is reliable, willing to learn and enjoys being part of a supportive team where no two days are the same. You don’t need extensive previous experience, what matters most is having a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a willingness to get involved across all areas of the operation. In return, you’ll have the opportunity to learn new skills, gain experience operating plant equipment and play an important part in delivering excellent service to customers.
What You'll be Doing
Supporting the safe and efficient operation of the asphalt plant and associated site equipment
Assisting with loading and unloading materials, monitoring operations and maintaining smooth day-to-day site activities
Carrying out routine safety checks, basic equipment maintenance and housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe working environment
Responding to customer enquiries, processing orders and supporting customers professionally and efficiently
Working closely with site teams and management to resolve issues, support operational activities and contribute to continuous improvement
