- Researches solutions to project management issues using the appropriate resources; lead short-term, tactical projects of various types.
- Helps to determine scope of work required for assigned projects.
- Contributes to team or project meetings to communicate project timelines, milestones, and updates.
- Assists in preparation of reports and program documentation.
- Follows the objectives, priorities, goals of projects through best practices and industry standard methodologies.
Job Responsibilities:
Project Manager I/II
This position manages the daily operations of the Center for Nano-Bio Interactions (CNBI) projects. The incumbent oversees, directs, and/or coordinates administrative, financial, personnel, and general business operations for the Center and provides technical assistance and support related to active projects at CNBI.
Examples of Work Performed:
- Manages and coordinates center project activities.
- Interacts regularly with project sponsors and stakeholders; use appropriate project management strategies for implementing requirements across a broad range of programs and initiatives.
- Creates project artifacts, agendas, presentations, and meeting minutes for project team.
- Assists in training new staff members in processes and procedures.
- May provide guidance and direction to other staff, especially as it pertains to the use of tools for effective project management.
- Prioritizes and coordinates center resources for goal achievement and provides initial budgetary and expenditure assessments of subcontracts.
- Ensures compliance with policies and procedures; participates in office planning; and supervises efficient operation of office in meeting external party needs.
- Serves as point of contact with various funding agencies.
- Identifies, analyzes, and disseminates relevant materials.
- Provides technical writing and budget preparation support as needed for proposal and project development and reporting requirements.
- Facilitates communication and networking among project participants and external entities.
- Develops, programs, modifies, and maintains the project’s information systems utilizing technology.
- Designs and oversees data retrieval procedures for data collection, performs analyses on data collected, and reports findings and makes recommendations.
- Attends related meetings and conferences.
- May be required to travel to various off-campus locations including business and industry sites.
- Rectifies day to day issues.
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
