What is needed for this job as our Associate Director, Camden Y:
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience working with youth and teens in community-based or educational settings
Experience coordinating youth programs, partnerships, or grant-funded initiatives
Demonstrated ability to manage program operations including scheduling, logistics, and reporting
Experience managing budgets and program resources
Strong organizational and data management skills
Ability to build collaborative relationships with schools, community organizations, and municipal partners
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for youth programs and community events
Reliable transportation required; ability to travel throughout the Greater Philadelphia YMCA service area, including Camden and surrounding communities, is expected
Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and overnight conferences related to youth programming and YMCA events
The responsibilities we will trust you as our Associate Director, Camden Y:
Program Operations & Implementation:
Oversee the daily coordination and delivery of Camden Y youth programming across schools, parks, and community locations
Ensure consistent implementation of youth leadership, civic engagement, workforce development, and enrichment programs designed to support positive youth development
Coordinate complementary sports and recreation activities that promote teamwork, physical wellness, and youth engagement
Manage program schedules, logistics, staffing needs, and facility partnerships to ensure efficient program delivery
Ensure program and operational alignment with the Greater Philadelphia YMCA’s strategic priorities and the NextGen department’s goals for youth development and community impact
Maintain program standards aligned with YMCA youth development practices and community needs
Partnerships & Community Collaboration:
Build and maintain relationships with Camden schools, city departments, and community-based organizations to support program access and implementation
Work collaboratively with program partners, donors, and sponsors to strengthen the sustainability and reach of Camden youth programs
Represent the YMCA at community meetings, program events, and partnership discussions related to youth development initiatives
Coordinate with partner organizations to support program implementation across shared community spaces
Program Administration & Data Management:
Ensure accurate collection and tracking of participant data, attendance, and program outcomes required for grant reporting and evaluation
Maintain program documentation, reporting systems, and participant records
Collaborate with VP of NextGen Leadership or their designee and development teams to provide required data for grant compliance and program reporting
Monitor program participation trends and support program improvements using data and feedback
Financial Oversight:
Manage program budgets including monitoring expenses, forecasting costs, and ensuring responsible financial stewardship
Track program expenditures, supplies, and operational costs to ensure alignment with approved funding
Coordinate with YMCA finance and development teams to support grant compliance and financial reporting
Staff & Program Coordination:
Hire and coordinate program staff, facilitators, coaches, and instructors supporting Camden-based youth programs
Support onboarding, scheduling, and supervision of program staff to ensure consistent program delivery
Foster a collaborative and mission-driven environment aligned with YMCA values
Community Engagement & Events:
Support the planning and coordination of community-based events and youth engagement opportunities that increase program awareness and participation
Ensure programs remain responsive to the needs of Camden youth and families
