Job Description

GES (Global Engineering Services) International is seeking a Sr. Planning Manager to drive the Quick Commerce infrastructure program in India. This role will own the end-to-end program management of Micro Fulfilment Centre (MFC) launches, cold chain infrastructure, and retrofit engineering initiatives across a rapidly scaling network. The PM will bring construction management expertise, leverage tools and automation for program execution, and apply AI-driven approaches to accelerate decision-making and insight generation. The PM will work cross-functionally with Design, Projects, RME, Procurement, and Operations to deliver network expansion on time, within budget, and at quality.

Key job responsibilities
Program Ownership & Delivery
• Own the Plan of Record (POR) for Quick Commerce site launches — including greenfield Micro fulfilment center builds and network expansions
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple programs and processes simultaneously across geographic regions with minimal direction from management
• Drive Retrofit Engineering Initiatives (REI) across existing operational facilities to improve cold room reliability, electrical infrastructure, and store efficiency
• Manage program milestones, dependencies, risks, and escalations across a portfolio of 1000+ active sites
• Build and own delivery roadmaps working backwards from critical business milestones, with integrated schedules showing clear critical paths and owner accountability
Business Reviews & Planning
• Lead and own WBR/MBR/QBR cadences with senior leadership and funding businesses; define the narrative, drive data-backed insights, and publish executive-level flash updates and funding utilization reports
• Drive OP1/OP2 planning strategy for capex, headcount and other programs; lead capacity planning discussions, align engineering investment to business priorities, and own the structured intake pipeline for continuous and ad hoc business requests
• Engage with technical experts and key stakeholders to initiate new programs, including developing new processes and program documentation
• Drive vendor performance governance — SLAs, service-credit mechanisms, and quality audits
Program Management Framework & Prioritization
• Define and govern the program management framework for intake triage, prioritization, and delivery — establishing scalable processes that improve engineering efficiency and reduce time-to-delivery across the portfolio
• Translate complex, ambiguous business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications; identify cross-program synergies and drive consolidation of overlapping asks to maximize engineering throughput
• Define and evaluate KPIs derived from program milestones, spend forecasts, and cost/resource loaded schedule performance to establish a metrics-driven approach to strategic initiatives
Construction Management
• Drive Micro fulfilment center fitout programs with hands-on construction management — managing general contractors, MEP trades, and specialist cold room installers
• Own site readiness assessments, punch-list closures, and project handover to RME with defined acceptance criteria
• Manage construction schedules, material procurement dependencies, and contractor performance across concurrent site builds
• Drive programs on safety compliance per Amazon EHS standards; conduct quality improvement programs
Process Improvement, Tools, Automation & AI
• Identify process and communications gaps; drive simplification and automation to evolve processes, services, and solutions — increasing agility and efficiencies while lowering costs
• Leverage project management tools (Asana, MS Project, or equivalent) for portfolio tracking, dependency management, and resource planning
• Build automated dashboards and reporting mechanisms to reduce manual program tracking overhead
• Apply AI tools to accelerate data analysis, root cause identification, trend detection, and document generation
• Develop AI-assisted mechanisms for audit report analysis, vendor performance scoring, and predictive maintenance flagging
• Drive adoption of technology-first approaches — automated scheduling, AI-powered site readiness scoring, and digital checklists
Metrics & Mechanisms
• Define and track program health metrics — MTBF, recurrence rates, audit closure rates, POR adherence, REI completion
• Build mechanisms for issue identification, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking
• Develop and maintain lessons learned and establish mechanisms to share these with teams across the organization
